A1 and A46 east from Newark

A57 east from Sheffield

A15 south from M180 Scunthorpe and Hull

A15 north from Sleaford

A46 south from Grimsby

By rail

Lincoln Central station with mainline connections from Newark. Regional connections include Nottingham, Grantham, Skegness, Grimsby and Birmingham.

Parking in Castle Square is closed, but please use the nearby local car parks offering long stay parking which are just a short walk to the heart of the action.

If you really want to make a weekend out of it why not travel up on Saturday and stay in one of the hotels or guest houses mentioned on the links page. That way you can miss the traffic and enjoy all that the historic city of Lincoln has to offer and pick a great spot on Sunday to watch one of the most exciting events on the cycle racing calendar that is the 53rd Lincoln Grand Prix.

TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS

In order to provide a safe race both for the competitors and the public the following arrangements are in place for the duration of the race.

The following roads are closed to all non-race traffic:

West Parade (east), Motherby Lane, Hungate, Michaelgate, Wordsworth Street, Drury Lane (part), Castle Hill, Bailgate and Fen Lane, Burton

The following roads are subject to a one way order where traffic will only be allowed in the same direction as the event:

Long Leys Road, Yarborough Road (from Long Leys Road to The Avenue), The Avenue, Yarborough Crescent.

Traffic on the following roads will be subject to police controls and will be delayed whilst the riders use that part of the circuit:

A57 (from A46 By-Pass to Fen Lane, Burton), Newport, Burton Road, Burton Village local traffic.

Vehicle Parking

It would be most helpful if householders on the race route will again co-operate by not parking on the road side. This can cause an accident amongst the cyclists. Any vehicles judged to be parked in a dangerous condition may be removed under police instructions. The Race Organisers really appreciate your ongoing help in this important safety matter.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

Motorists wishing to avoid delays should use alternative routes.

South - North traffic should use Lindum Hill and Wragby Road.

Traffic coming in to Lincoln on the A15 should join the A46 By Pass to the A158 junction and then in to Lincoln via Wragby Road.

Traffic leaving Lincoln towards the A15 should take Nettleham Road to the A46 By Pass.

Traffic leaving Lincoln to the west should use Doddington Road or Skellingthorpe Road to join the A57. All diversions will be fully signed.
